Is your love true?

Public parks and parked cars are increasingly becoming hotbeds of obscenity much to the chagrin of common folk.

About thirty years ago, the simple act of publicly holding hands of a boyfriend / girlfriend tantamount to extreme vulgarity.

However in the contemporary times, things have changed drastically.

Yesterday while returning from my evening walk I saw a beautiful girl and a sturdy boy in their twenties, intimately kissing and caressing each other in a dark corner of a public park.

Seeing me the young couple ceased their pursuits but didn't look shamefaced.

The girl's face looked somewhat familiar, I was however not able to place her.

The girl however recognized me, came up to me and pleaded, "Uncle please don't tell my father about this."

With the garden pole light now directly on her face, I at once recognized her, "Beta, if I'm not wrong, you are Mr Chopra's daughter."

"Yes uncle." she said in a subdued voice.

"Beta, your father is a reputed businessman. These acts of yours would sully his image. Think of your parents before doing anything nonsense." I counseled.

"Uncle I truly love her. We have intended to get married in few years time." said Ritish, her boyfriend.

"Do you truly love her." I inquired

"Yes!" said the boy emphatically.

"Ritish, suppose after your marriage, she finds a man more handsome, more moneyed than you. Sensing that she would find more happiness with that man, she elopes with him. What would then be your reaction?" I smilingly asked.

"Uncle I would kill that rascal." said Ritish angrily.

"I'm sorry to say son that your love isn't true."

"How come uncle?"

"Son, true love doesn't mean binding one's spouse or partner in in fetters for one's selfish interests. In true love one in more concerned about the happiness of one's spouse rather than one's own. Try to transform your lust into true love son." I patted his shoulder and moved on.
